Screens for Schools

Screens for Schools was founded to fulfill the technology needs of Birmingham City Schools. Amrita was teaching computer classes at EPIC Elementary as a part of their after school and summer camp programs when she noticed this problem. So, she decided to take matters into her own hands, and founded Screens for Schools. So far, Screens for Schools has raised $31,000 and has provided two elementary schools with new technology and professional development. The organization has now adopted a third school: Martha Gaskins Elementary School. They are working on fundraising to provide this school with new technology as well.

Amrita Lakhanpal, founder, appeared on the “Let’s Talk Birmingham” radio show on December 2, 2018.
